Terms of Service
Plain English, no tricks. The two things worth reading properly are section 3 (you may only clone your own voice) and section 5 (cancelling mid-month does not get you a refund).

Who we are and what this covers
Timbre is operated by EKO SOLAR LLC, Stone Mountain, Georgia, United States. These terms cover your use of the Timbre website and service. By creating an account you agree to them.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at support@timbre.app if you think someone else has access.
One person, one account. Don't share a login to get around plan limits — we'd rather you just picked the right plan.
You may only clone your own voice
This is the rule that matters most. You may create a voice from a recording of yourself, or from a recording of someone who has given you written, informed permission to do so and who could demonstrate that permission if asked.
Every voice must pass a live consent recording made through your browser at the time you create it. We compare that recording to the audio you uploaded. If they don't appear to be the same speaker, the voice stays locked.
What gets your account closed immediately
Cloning a public figure, a celebrity, a colleague, a family member, or anyone else without their permission. Using a cloned voice to impersonate someone, commit fraud, harass, or produce material that a reasonable person would find abusive. We close these accounts without a refund and without warning.
If someone has cloned your voice here without your consent, email takedown@timbre.app. We treat those reports as urgent.
What you make is yours
You keep ownership of the audio you upload and the narration you generate. On a paid plan you may use your generated audio commercially — client work, monetised video, advertising, products for sale.
On the Free plan you can listen to your narration in the browser but not download it, and it is not licensed for commercial use.
We need a limited licence to your audio purely to run the service — storing it, processing it, and playing it back to you. We do not use your voice to train models, and we do not licence it to anyone else.
Billing, cancellation and refunds
Paid plans bill monthly in advance through Square. Your subscription renews automatically on the same day each month until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars.
You can cancel at any time from Account → Billing. It takes two clicks and we won't make you email anyone or sit through a retention offer.
Cancelling mid-month does not get you a refund
When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you keep full access for that whole time. At the end of the period the subscription ends and your account drops to the Free plan.
We do not issue partial or pro-rated refunds for the unused part of a month. If you cancel on day 2 of a 30-day cycle, you keep access for the remaining 28 days and you are not refunded for them.
Unused minutes do not roll over. Each billing period starts your allowance again from zero.
If a payment fails, we'll retry and email you. If it keeps failing, the account drops to Free — your voices stay where they are and come back the moment billing succeeds.
If we get something badly wrong — the service is broken and you couldn't use what you paid for — email us. We'd rather sort it out than argue about it.
Plan limits
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of generated audio and a maximum number of saved voices. When you reach the limit, generation pauses until the next billing period or until you upgrade. We'll show you where you stand before you hit it, not after.
We may apply reasonable rate limits to stop automated abuse. Normal use will never touch them.
Watermarking
Every piece of audio Timbre generates carries an inaudible watermark embedded by the underlying speech model. You cannot hear it and it does not affect quality. It exists so that synthetic speech remains identifiable as synthetic.
We will not remove it, disable it, or provide unwatermarked output — for anyone, at any price.
Deleting things
You can delete an individual voice, an individual take, or your whole account at any time from your account settings. Deleting a voice removes the reference audio and its consent recording from our active systems immediately, and from backups within 30 days.
Deleting your account cancels any active subscription. Under section 5 that cancellation is not refunded, so if you're mid-cycle you may prefer to cancel and let the period run out first.
Availability
We aim to keep Timbre running all the time, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and things occasionally break.
Generation speed depends on demand. Studio subscribers are placed ahead of others in the queue when it's busy.
Ending your access
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 3 or the Acceptable Use Policy, that attempts to defraud us, or that puts the service or other users at risk. Where the breach is serious we will do this without notice and without a refund.
Liability
Timbre is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
You are responsible for how you use the audio you generate, including making sure it's lawful where you are and wherever you publish it.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Timbre after that means you accept the new version. If you don't, cancel before the change lands.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.
